Introduction to Mindfulness

This session will introduce students to mindfulness and provide a basic understanding of mindfulness concepts and strategies. By the end of this session, students will be able to: – Define mindfulness – Understand a basic overview of the mind/body connection, brainwaves, and how mindfulness practices are beneficial and generalizable – Know why mindfulness is a superpower – Apply various mindfulness-based strategies to reduce anxiety, focus on academics, and enhance emotional regulation.
